MIDTOWN — Temperatures reached a record high Wednesday in New York City.
The high in Central Park was 85 degrees Fahrenheit, beating the previous record from 1963 of 83 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Relief is on the way, though, with lows expected in the low 60s Wednesday night. The forecast calls for highs in the upper 60s on Thursday, with a chance of showers.
Temperatures will drop even lower this weekend with highs in the upper 50s, according to meteorologists.
