HELL’S KITCHEN — A housing lottery for nine single-room occupancy apartments at a Hell’s Kitchen building opened Wednesday — with monthly rents of $714.
The newly-renovated SRO units at 330 W. 51st St., between Eighth and Ninth avenues, are available to one-person households earning between $24,480 and $38,100 per year.
The building has 24-hour security, a resident manager who lives on site, a community room, a backyard, a laundry room, and “on-site social services for low income or formerly homeless households with special needs,” the city said.
Each floor has a kitchenette and a shared communal bathroom.
Preference for all nine units will go to residents of Manhattan Community Board 4, which covers Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen.
Municipal employees, mobility-disabled applicants and vision- or hearing-impaired applicants will also receive preference.
The monthly rent includes all utilities.
