GREENPOINT — The Manhattan Inn, a piano bar and music venue, will close its doors after seven years of business on Greenpoint's Manhattan Avenue, the venue announced on its Facebook page Monday afternoon.

The spot is offering a month of free shows to commemorate its going out, with local acts like country crooner Cassandra Jenkins, songwriter Sam Cohen, and multi-instrumentalist Delicate Steve

The last day in operation will be Nov. 13.

"While the Manhattan Inn has always enjoyed steady support from the community, it was no longer enough to keep the business viable," the owners said in a statement, adding that rising rent wasn't the reason they were leaving.

They also pledged to reopen in 2017 in the same location with a new project.

"We are looking forward to unveiling a new and exciting endeavor that will serve the community in a fresh atmosphere," they said.

Here's a full list of the shows being offered in the Manhattan Inn's last month.

Editors Note: An earlier version of this story stated that the owners would reopen in a new location. They later clarified they would reopen in the same location in 2017.
