QUEENS — Four people were injured when a fire tore through the top floor of a six-story apartment building Friday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.

Flames erupted about 4:51 a.m. inside 42-15 43rd Ave., near 43rd Street, the spokesman said.

One person was critically injured and another person suffered serious injuries but was hospitalized in stable condition, officials said.

Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries at area hospitals, officials said.

Fire marshals will determine what sparked the blaze.
