QUEENS — A man died after being hit by an L train at the Halsey Street station during Wednesday's rush hour, authorities said.

The person jumped from the platform and laid across the tracks as the L train pulled into the station at Wyckoff Avenue and Eldert Street around 5:05 p.m., according to police and the FDNY.

Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene, an FDNY spokesman said.
