QUEENS — A man died after being hit by an L train at the Halsey Street station during Wednesday's rush hour, authorities said.
The person jumped from the platform and laid across the tracks as the L train pulled into the station at Wyckoff Avenue and Eldert Street around 5:05 p.m., according to police and the FDNY.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene, an FDNY spokesman said.
L train service was suspended in both directions between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues and Atlantic Avenue as of 6:26 p.m., according to the MTA website.
