TIMES SQUARE — Police are searching for a serial burglar who stole more than $380 in cash, a handbag, a tablet computer and other items from six different Manhattan locations over the course of nearly a year, the NYPD said.

The thief first struck more than a year ago at 723 Seventh Ave., at West 48th Street, around 11:04 a.m., stealing money from a donation jar Sept. 26, 2015, the NYPD said.

Less than a month later, on Oct. 9, he tried to enter a location at 39 Broadway in the Financial District around 6:37 p.m. and wasn’t successful, but returned around 9 p.m. and managed to steal $300 in cash, police said.

A day later, he took $80 in cash from 299 Broadway in TriBeCa around 2 p.m., the NYPD said.

He returned to the same location around 3:10 p.m., but didn’t take anything, police said.

On Oct. 16, 2015, the thief carried out three burglaries inside 6 E. 45th St., between Fifth and Madison avenues, around 5 p.m., removing unspecified items, the NYPD said.

A little more than nine months later, on July 26 of this year, the thief stole a handbag from a location at 240 Madison Ave., between East 37th and 38th streets, around 12:45 p.m., police said.

Finally, on Aug. 29, he went into a location at 1440 Broadway, between West 40th and 41st streets, stole a Samsung tablet around 10:54 a.m., and then stole personal items and an unspecified amount of money around 11:07 a.m., the NYPD said.

Surveillance video at the scene of the burglar's most recent theft shows him carrying a black bag and wearing a red T-shirt, black pants and Nike sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
