Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story stated that the renaming would take place on Oct. 23. Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz had to postpone the date to Oct. 30 due to family matters, her office said.

QUEENS — Now it's really gonna be "rock, rock, rock 'n' roll high school."

A corner in front of Forest Hills High School will soon be named after The Ramones, an iconic punk rock band whose members attended it.

According to City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz's office, the intersection of 67th Avenue and 110th Street, will be officially co-named “The Ramones Way” on Oct. 30.

Original members of the legendary band — Jeffery Hyman (Joey), Thomas Erdelyi (Tommy), Douglas Colvin (Dee Dee), and John Cummings (Johnny) — all grew up in the neighborhood and met at the school.

The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., according Koslowitz, who sponsored the street co-naming.

“I'm so THRILLED that it's actually happening,” Mickey Leigh, the brother of Joey Ramone wrote on his Facebook page. “And, so PROUD of the four guys who made such an amazing impact on the world.”

Leigh also wrote that he first started pushing for a Ramones street sign in the neighborhood about a decade ago.

In 2003, the corner of the Bowery and 2nd Street, near CBGB, was also renamed "Joey Ramone Place." In 2001, it was raised up to a spot 20 feet above the street after it earned the reputation as the most stolen street sign in New York City.

There will be “a ceremony accompanying the sign unveiling” in front of Forest Hills High School, Leigh wrote.
