The suspect walked into the Chase Bank on East 79th Street near Third Avenue about 5:20 p.m. and passed a note to the teller claiming he had a bomb and wanted money, the NYPD said.
The teller complied, and the robber fled with the cash, police said.
The suspect is described as in his 30s, about 6-feet tall, with a beard. He was last seen wearing a white baseball camp and a dark-colored hooded sweater.
