Thief Steals 24-Pack of Heineken, Beats Man With Beer Bottle in SoHo: NYPD

SOHO — A robber stole a 24-pack of beer from a SoHo restaurant, then smashed the man who tried to stop him with one of the bottles, police said.

The 24-year-old grabbed the pack of Heineken beer from French bistro Felix at about 9:24 a.m. on Sept. 26, then tried to run off, but was chased down by two of the restaurant's workers, police said.

The thief managed to wrangle two of the beer bottles as he tussled with the workers, and kept running from the 340 W. Broadway restaurant, but was once again stopped by one of the employees.

This time, the robber began to hit the worker with a beer bottle, whacking him across the face several times, leaving him with multiple cuts, police said.

The thief was arrested and charged with robbery, police said.

Information about his charges from the Manhattan DA's office were not immediately available.
