MARINERS HARBOR — An ex-con stabbed three of his girlfriend's relatives after an argument inside their apartment, a law enforcement source said.

Victor Gutierrez, 45, got into an argument with his girlfriend's family inside one of their apartments at the Mariners Harbor Houses, 250 Lockman Ave., on Sunday at about 5:20 p.m., the source said.

During the fight, Gutierrez got a knife and stabbed a 22-year-old woman in the chest and wrist, a 46-year-old man in the shoulder and a 25-year-old man in the right hand, the source said.

When police arrived, Gutierrez kicked officers and flailed his arms to stop from being handcuffed, prosecutors said.

All three victims were taken to a local hospital for their injuries. The attack left the female victim with a punctured lung and the 25-year-old man needed eight stitches in his hand, according to the criminal complaint.

Gutierrez was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest and had his bail set at $50,000 at his Monday arraignment, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.

He previously served time in prison for a 1991 conviction for rape, robbery, assault and burglary and was released this year, according to the state Department of Corrections.

Gutierrez was also convicted in July of criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to court documents.

Contact information for his lawyer was not available.
