NEW DROP — A man accidentally shot his friend in the head inside a Staten Island home while the pair played with a handgun, police said.
The 23-year-old victim and his 18-year-old friend were playing with the gun inside a home on Cannon Boulevard on Sunday when the teen accidentally shot the victim in the head about 6:30 p.m., a spokesman for the NYPD said.
The victim was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, police said.
The New York Daily News reported he's in critical condition, but police were unable to confirm.
The friend had not been charged with any crime as of Monday morning, police said.
