KINGSBRIDGE — A group of at least seven people attacked a man in The Bronx early on Sunday morning, knocking him unconscious and sending him to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

The assault took place around 4:15 a.m. in front of 5523 Broadway and was sparked by an argument the 36-year-old victim had with a woman, according to the NYPD.

The victim pushed the woman, and a group of people then intervened, with one suspect punching the victim in the face and knocking him unconscious to the ground and several suspects then punching and kicking him, police said.

Graphic video of the incident shows the victim getting viciously attacked by a large group of people.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition following the assault, and officers are looking for at least seven suspects in the attack, including the woman who the victim had been arguing with before the brawl, police said.

Anyone with information about this assault is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the crime stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577.
