Thief Hits Lincoln Center, Fordham and Equinox, Police Say

LINCOLN SQUARE — A woman has been targeting businesses and institutions around Lincoln Square, walking in and stealing pricey bags and electronics, as well as cash and credit cards, police said. 

The unidentified woman's alleged crime spree spanned a seven-block radius in the West 60s between Broadway and Columbus and started in August, with the most recent incident happening on Sept. 6, police said. The thefts all happened in the early to mid-afternoon, according to the NYPD. 

On Aug. 1, the thief stole a Hermes purse worth $3,000 from a locker at Equinox at 160 Columbus Ave. at West 67th Street around 3:45 p.m., police said. The purse contained $450, a Valentino wallet and credit cards, according to police. 

 The woman stole a purse from Equinox and electronics and cash from David Geffen Hall, among other spots she hit in August and September, police said.

That same week, on Aug. 5 at 1 p.m., she stole a Mac laptop, a tablet and $10 from the fifth and sixth floors of David Geffen Hall at 132 West 65th St. at Broadway, according t the NYPD.

On Aug. 19, she stole a wallet containing credit cards from inside 1841 Broadway at West 60th Street around 1:30 p.m., police said. Police could not say where in the building the theft took place. 

She then stole credit cards from a purse inside a Fordham University building at 45 Columbus Ave. at West 61st Street on Sept. 6 about 2:45 p.m, police said.
