FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Some free bright red flowers will soon be up for grabs at Bowling Green Park.

Hundreds of potted SunPatiens, freshly picked, will be handed out at the small the park next week, according to the Downtown Alliance, a Lower Manhattan advocacy group that is sponsoring the event.

The flowers, which are currently rooted in Bowling Green Park, will be unearthed to make way for new plantings.

The gratis greens will be handed out from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Oct. 7, at Bowling Green Plaza.

According to the organizers, SunPatiens are relatively low-maintenance plants, thriving in rain or shine. For more tips on care, head here.
