MIDTOWN — A mover hired by Chanel to transport its pricey merchandise stole more than $77,000 worth of sunglasses, perfume and other items from one of the famed fashion company's stores, the NYPD said.

Surveillance video from the Chanel store at 15 E. 57th St., between Fifth and Madison avenues, on June 4 and 5 shows a man taking 117 pairs of sunglasses worth $65,628, 20 blush palettes worth $1,200, 30 children’s books worth $380, 20 Chanel eyeshadow palettes worth $1,220, 50 Chanel ballerina shoes worth $1,400 and 205 bottles of Chanel perfume worth $7,875, police said.

The man was hired to move inventory from Chanel’s boutique at 9 W. 57th St., between Fifth and Sixth avenues, to the East 57th Street store, the NYPD said.

The mover got away with a total of $77,703 worth of merchandise, police said.

Police still hadn’t arrested anyone in connection with the incident as of Monday, the NYPD said.

The store's manager did not respond to a request for comment, and a Chanel spokeswoman declined to comment.
