EAST VILLAGE — The now-vacant site of a building wiped out by the East Village gas explosion that killed two people and injured 22 others has sold for $6 million, according to property records.

The vacant lot at 123 Second Ave., which prior owner George Pasternak had listed for $9.7 million, ultimately went for well below the asking price, as first reported by 6sqft.

The parcel was home to one of three buildings wiped out by the March 2015 explosion, and for years held iconic Belgian fry spot Pommes Frites, which has since reopened in Greenwich Village.

Prosecutors in April found the owner of the neighboring building at 121 Second Ave., where the blast occurred, had illegally tampered with the building’s gas line, then failed to warn residents before the devastating blast.

Maria Hrynenko, the owner of 121 Second Ave., her son Michael Hrynenko, contractor Dilber Kufic and plumber Anthanasios Ioannidis were all indicted for manslaughter and other criminal charges in connection with the explosion.

The new owner of the parcel, listed on property records as 123 Second Ave, Corp. and as Ezra Jason Wibowo on the deed attached to the property, could not immediately be reached for comment.
