UPDATED with new surveillance video below:

CHELSEA — An attacker slashed a man’s wrist with a knife inside a deli after making “anti-white statements," the NYPD said.

The 40-year-old victim was walking with his girlfriend around 6 a.m. on Sept. 23 when he passed a man sitting outside 245 Ninth Ave., at the corner of West 25th Street, police said.

The pair overheard the man say the word “white” along with some other words they couldn’t understand, the NYPD said.

The couple changed course but the man went after them, with the scuffle spilling into a nearby deli, police said.

Video surveillance from inside the store captured the attack, which left the boyfriend with a cut on his left wrist, the NYPD said.

Police released additional surveillance footage Wednesday showing the suspect.

The attacker fled after the incident and the victim refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The victim’s girlfriend wasn’t injured, the NYPD said.

Police are searching for an approximately 30-year-old, 200- to 240-pound man standing 5-foot-8. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, dark-colored pants and a white shirt, police said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
