COLLEGE POINT — A man tried to kidnap a 9-year-old girl outside a public school Friday morning, police said.
He approached the girl just before 8 a.m. outside of P.S. 129 on 128th Street, between Seventh and Ninth avenues, and offered to help her find her mom, according to the NYPD.
When the girl ignored him, he tried to take her away by force, but she escaped his grasp and ran into the school, police said.
She alerted school authorities who immediately called 911, police said.
Police described the suspect as being between 20 and 30 years old, with curly hair. He was wearing a white shirt and red shorts.
He was last seen boarding a Q25 bus which runs from College Point to Jamaica.
