BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a man who lured a 9-year-old boy into his car in Borough Park and then fondled himself in front of the child, an NYPD spokesman said.
The man offered the Hasidic boy, who was raising money for his Yeshiva, $5 to get into his minivan on 18th Avenue near 49th Street at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 14, according to police and the Daily News.
The suspect, who was wearing traditional Hasidic clothing and has a beard, masturbated and then reportedly gave the child $100.
He then drove off and has still not been identified, said the NYPD spokesman, who couldn't confirm whether the child was given $100.
Investigators are reportedly testing $100 bill and the boy’s pants for DNA evidence, according to the Daily News.
The incident happened near where 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky was abducted and killed in 2011.
Levi Aron confessed to the abduction and murder and pleaded guilty in 2012.
A measure to install additional security cameras in the area was announced in 2012 following the boy’s murder.
It was not immediately clear if the man or his vehicle were captured on surveillance cameras.
