BROOKLYN — A man yelled “Bomb!” on an L train before counting down from five and then yelling “Boom,” police said.

The man got on a Manhattan-bound train at Bedford Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, just hours before the Chelsea bombing, and then screamed the bomb threat while the train was heading under the East River, according to the NYPD.

Another rider snapped his photo before he got off the train at First Avenue.

Police described the man as between 30 to 40 years old and 5-foot-10. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants.

Investigators do not believe there is any connection to the Chelsea bombing at this point, an NYPD spokesman said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com
