MIDTOWN — Nine people were arrested during a Black Lives Matter protest in Midtown on Wednesday night, police said.

Demonstrators marched from Union Square to Herald Square in solidarity with protesters in Charlotte, North Carolina, where massive unrest has taken place after the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott by officers.

Eight protesters were charged with disorderly conduct and one with reckless endangerment, an NYPD spokesman said.

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency Wednesday night for Charlotte after a protester was shot and critically wounded, WNBC reported.
