THE BRONX — A decomposing body was found in a black garbage bag in a wooden crate at a Throgs Neck marina Monday afternoon, police said.

The unidentified corpse was discovered about 12:15 p.m. inside the Locust Point Marina at 140 Reynolds Ave., near Harding Avenue, an NYPD spokesman said.

Investigators believe the body is male, but didn't provide an age.

"Right now, we're trying to identify who he was. We can't tell right now immediately how long the body was in there," said NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.

It wasn't immediately clear how the person died, police said. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
