HARLEM — A sweet-toothed thief robbed an East Harlem Subway — and made off with a tray of cookies, police said.

The manager of the sandwich store on East 118th Street and Madison Avenue discovered broken glass at the entrance and a tray of 50 cookies missing around 9 a.m. on Sept. 17.

The cookies were worth $50, police said.

The manager told police the theft had to have happened sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. since the restaurant closes at 11 p.m. and the employees leave around midnight.

The eatery has four security cameras but the manager was unable to retrieve the footage from that night, police said.

Police discovered the empty tray on East 119th and Madison Avenue and lifted four fingerprints from it.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
