NEW YORK CITY — This is Lily, possibly the most loyal pup you'll ever meet.

She is two years old, weighs just 13 pounds and was recently found by Animal Lighthouse Rescue after her owner dumped her with just a crate and a t-shirt in the woods.

Lily is such a good dog, according to ALR's Julie Sinaw, she stayed for weeks exactly where her owners left her, waiting for them to return.

They never did, but a woman found Lily and started leaving food out for her.

When ALR went to rescue Lily, they found her sitting quietly on her old owner's shirt, as she had been for weeks.

Lily is a sweet, snuggly, loving pup, Sinaw said. She loves other dogs and adults, and likes kids, though she finds them a little intimidating and can get scared.

She is a little timid in general, but Sinaw believes that will fade once her abandonment is behind her and she is in a stable and loving home.

"If you want a dog who will be your best friend for the rest of her life, Lily is your girl!" Sinaw said.

ALR has gotten Lily healthy, spayed and up-to-date on her shots. For more information about her, fill out an application on ALR's website and email Julie@ALRcares.com.
