MANHATTAN — A man died after jumping in front of a 1 train at the 72nd Street station during the early part of Thursday morning's commute, officials said.

The man, whose name and age weren't immediately released, was hit by a northbound train in the station near Broadway about 6:41 a.m., FDNY and NYPD officials said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Investigators don't believe any criminality was involved, police said.

Electricity was temporarily turned off on the northbound track, an NYPD spokesman said.

The incident disrupted the 1, 2, 3 and 5 lines during the beginning of the morning's rush, according to the MTA.

Regular service resumed, with delays, about 8:30 a.m., the MTA said.
