MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS — A driver fatally struck a man walking outside a crosswalk Tuesday night, police said.

The 63-year-old was walking east on Morningside Avenue at West 124th Street when a driver headed northbound on the avenue hit him at about 7:42 p.m., the NYPD said.

The victim was outside the crosswalk when he was struck, police said.

Emergency responders found the victim had suffered severe head trauma and transported him to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
