
BUSHWICK — Four subsidized apartments are opening up in a new building on Stanhope Street for singles and couples earning up to $43,500, a short walk from two train lines, and a smattering of bakeries, cafes, bars and restaurants.
Applications to live at 44-46 Stanhope St. at Evergreen Avenue, a five-story apartment building a short walk from the J and M trains and the B46 B60 buses are due by Oct. 5, according to the city's affordable housing lottery.
One studio available in the building will rent out for $856 a month for single people earning between $29,349 and $38,100.
The building has three, one bedroom apartments with a monthly rent of $985.

Single people earning between $33,772 and $38,100 and couples earning between $33,772 - $43,500 are eligible to apply.
The apartments are funded through the state's now-expired 421-a tax break program where 20 percent of the apartments in the building are required to be affordable, according to the city.
