UPPER WEST SIDE — Incumbent state Assemblyman Daniel O'Donnell claimed victory in the Democratic Primary for his Upper West Side district Tuesday night, setting him up to carry the seat he's held since 2002, NY1 reported.
O'Donnell, 55, faced a challenge from Steven Appel, 31, a communications manager for a financial literacy nonprofit.
The Republican challenger for the seat, Stephen Garrin, ran unopposed on the GOP ticket.
The general election is Nov. 8.
