THE BRONX — Police have arrested and charged a woman they said swiped a purse containing more than $100 from an 86-year-old grandmother in a wheelchair.

Adrianne Terry, 37, was charged with grand larceny and petit larceny, police said Tuesday afternoon.

Terry swiped the purse from the lap of Bernice Starnes, who was sitting in a wheelchair outside her Marmion Avenue apartment building near East 179th Street about 9 a.m. Sunday, NYPD officials said.

“She said, ‘Good morning,’" Starnes said Monday. “The next thing she did, she grabbed my purse and she said, ‘Now it is a good morning.’”

“I was calling her every name but a child of God,” said Starnes, who started using a wheelchair after breaking her hip. “I used to run track. If I wasn’t in this wheelchair, I would’ve caught her a-- and put my foot up her."

Terry has been arrested about a dozen times on charges including selling drugs, drug possession and two assaults, an NYPD spokesman said Tuesday. Most of her arrest records are sealed, he added.
