Murder Suspect Apologizes For Smell of Dead Body, NYPD Says

By Kathleen Culliton | September 13, 2016 9:42pm

THE BRONX — The suspected killer of a man found dead and swathed in plastic in his apartment told police that she was sorry for the smell, the NYPD said Tuesday.

Sidney Harris, 64, was found in his home at 2325 Arthur Ave. on May 30 by a couple who believed they had rented the apartment, according to police

The landlord had told the man and woman the previous tenant had been taken to the hospital and would not return. But the couple quickly discovered Harris' body lying underneath a pile of plastic shower curtains and blankets, authorities said.

The Medical Examiner's office determined the cause of death was multiple blunt impacts to the head with skull fractures.

Linda Ceasar, 57, was arrested for Harris' murder on Tuesday, and later told officers she was sorry for the smell of the body, according to the NYPD.

Ceasar has two prior arrests for grand larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
