QUEENS — A charred body was found in the trunk of a burning car in a Queens park near John F. Kennedy International Airport Saturday night, police said.

Police said officers arrived in the public parking lot outside of Idlewild Park Preserve near 224th Street and 149th Avenue about 11:40 p.m. Saturday night to find firefighters extinguishing a fire set to a 2010 Nissan Sentra.

After the fire was out, the body of a badly burned unidentified man was found in the trunk, police said.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
