EAST HARLEM — A shooting victim was hospitalized in critical condition early Saturday after speeding away from his assailant and crashing into a parked car 15 blocks away in East Harlem, police said.

The unidentified 36-year-old man was sitting in his black Audi at East 104th Street near First Avenue about 1:20 a.m. Saturday when another man approached the car and started shooting, hitting the victim once in the right arm and once in the chest, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

After being shot, the driver sped away, turning onto First Avenue and traveling northbound until colliding with another vehicle at East 119th Street, police said.

The unidentified victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where police said he was likely to die from his injuries.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
