QUEENS — A would-be robber fled a bank in Ditmars after being rebuffed by the teller Friday afternoon, police said.

Police say the suspect entered the Chase Bank location at 22-30 31st St., at 4 p.m., passing a note to the teller demanding money.

But the teller refused to hand over the cash, and the man turned and fled the location empty-handed, according to the NYPD.

Police on Saturday released photos of the suspect, who they say is in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a tan short sleeve t-shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information in regards to this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1(800)577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577.
