LONGWOOD — It's going to be an awkward Thanksgiving.

Felix Navarro, 20, will have a lot of explaining to do after accidentally shooting his aunt in the shoulder outside of 966 E. 165th St. in the South Bronx during an argument with an unknown man at a nearby bar, police said.

Navarro was arguing with a man at the Exito Bar and Lounge on Aug. 27 around 3:10 a.m. when they decided to take their dispute outside, according to the NYPD.

Navarro then took out a gun, but when his 37-year-old aunt got in the middle of the fight to try break it up, he shot her in the right shoulder and missed the person he had been arguing with, police said.

The bullet also grazed a friend of Navarro's on the left side of his head, but both victims are in stable condition, according to police.

Navarro was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He is due back in court on Oct. 4, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.

His attorney Porsha Venable and the Exito Bar and Lounge did not respond to requests for comment.
