By Nicholas Rizzi | September 5, 2016 10:39am

STATEN ISLAND — A boat crashed into the shoreline of an island near the Verrazano bridge causing three people to be rescued — one of whom needed to be airlifted to a hospital.

The 24-foot pleasure boat crashed into the rocks of Hoffman Island about 12:25 p.m. Sunday, the NYPD said.

After receiving a report of a boat in distress, officers in the NYPD Aviation Unit found an 81-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman on the rocks at the island, police said.

Responding officers found the woman unconscious and air lifted her to Staten Island University Hospital, police said.

She was treated and is listed in stable condition, officials said.

The two male victims were taken by the NYPD Harbor Unit to the Marine Basin Marina, where EMT workers met them. They refused medical attention, police said.
