QUEENS — A Bronx man was killed on the Cross Island Expressway in Queens after colliding his motorcycle into another vehicle and hitting a guardrail, police said Friday.

Michael Ramnath, 26, of Wakefield, was riding his Suzuki motorcycle northbound on the Cross Island between Northern Boulevard and the Bayside Marina around 10 p.m. Friday when he tried to switch lanes and collided with a gold BMW, police said.

After hitting the BMW, police said Ramnath continued to veer right, until he hit a guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Ramnath was rushed to Flushing Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police said the driver of the BMW remained on scene. There have been no arrests, and an investigation by the NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing, police said.
