NEW DORP BEACH — A man broke into three cars and a garage and stole sunglasses, iPods, credit cards and a bike, prosecutors said.
Kevin Welsh, 20, broke into cars around Cedar Grove Avenue and Guyon Avenue between Aug. 26 and Aug. 27, also taking an E-Z Pass, chargers, a tire pressure gauge, lighters, a flash light and keys, authorities said.
Welsh also broke into a garage on Cedargrove Avenue and took a red bike from inside, prosecutors said.
"I saw it, it was better than my bike so I took it," Welsh told police, according to court documents.
Welsh was charged with burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and criminal possession of a weapon for having brass knuckles on him when he was arrested, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.
His bail was set at $1,500 and he's due back in court on Friday, according to online court documents.
His lawyer could not be reached for comment.
