Police Seek Suspect in Red Pants For Attempted Shooting on Lower East Side

LOWER EAST SIDE — Police are looking for a man they say attempted to shoot someone on Aug. 23 in front of a residence at 46 Madison St.

The suspect fired several shots from a silver .22 caliber handgun at a person on Madison Street between James and Oliver streets at around 5:34 p.m., police said.

Authorities said there were no injuries reported following the incident, but were unable to share any information on the would-be victim, stating only that the matter is under investigation.

Police have released photos of the suspect, described as a man around 20 years old last seen wearing a black T-shirt, red sweatpants and black sneakers.
