BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Police are searching for a man they say attempted to rape a woman at knifepoint and robbed her in a Brooklyn alleyway.

The suspect ran past the 24-year-old victim in the area around Louis Place near Herkimer Street and Atlantic Avenue just before 6 a.m. on Aug. 21, officials said.

Then he turned towards her with a knife and told her to follow him, saying, “Give it up or I’m going to stab you,” sources said.

The woman was led into an alleyway between 19 and 19A Louis Place, according to police, where the suspect assaulted her.

He then fled with his victim's cellphone in an unknown direction, officials said.

The suspect is described as 30 to 40 years old with a mustache, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-7 and weighing about 190 pounds, police said.

He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a brown shirt.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
