UPPER EAST SIDE — A burglar broke into French restaurant Match Brasserie and made off with a safe containing $33,000 in cash and 50 blank checks, according to the NYPD.

The suspect entered the  eatery at 29 E. 65th St., near Madison Avenue, by breaking a side window and grabbed the small safe at 3:50 a.m. on Aug. 24, police said.

Surveillance photos of the incident show the suspect, a bald man wearing a dark shirt, standing in front of computer screens in a room inside the restaurant.

A manager at Match Brassiere was not immediately available to comment.
