SOHO — A man was found dead in a room at the James Hotel in SoHo early Monday morning, police said.
Police said the 34-year-old man from Hawaii was found face down on a couch in a room at the 27 Grand St. hotel about 12:30 a.m. Monday morning.
The man was discovered by a friend of his, police said.
Police suspect the man died of a drug overdose, but the medical examiner will determine the cause of death, the NYPD said.
The James Hotel had no comment on the incident and directed all questions to the NYPD.
