NEW YORK CITY — The MTA has announced a slew of service changes along roads and rails ahead of Labor Day weekend.

Here’s a breakdown:

► SUBWAYS AND BUSES:

Subways and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Labor Day. Because of the J’Ouvert Parade, the Church Avenue 2 train stop in Brooklyn will be closed and bypassed from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. Buses in the area will be rerouted.

Because of the West Indian Day Parade on Monday, certain subway entrances along the parade route on Eastern Parkway will be impacted beginning at 10 a.m. The Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum 2, 3, 4 and 5 train station will be closed and bypassed from noon to 7 p.m.

At the Crown Heights-Utica Avenue 3, 4 station, certain staircases will be designated as solely for entering or exiting. 4s will make local stops in Brooklyn.

LONG ISLAND RAILROAD AND METRO-NORTH RAILROAD:

On Friday, the LIRR will offer 10 extra afternoon trains leaving from Penn Station, while Metro-North will offer 17 additional trains from Grand Central. For riders leaving for Orange and Rockland Counties, Metro-North will offer an extra departure from Hoboken on the Port Jervis line with connecting service from Penn Station.

► STATEN ISLAND RAILWAY: The SIR will provide express trains beginning at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the St. George Ferry Terminal. One express train and one local train will await every boat until 7:50 p.m. The SIR will operate on a Sunday schedule on Labor Day.

► BRIDGES AND TUNNELS: Lane closures due to maintenance and temporary construction will be suspended along all bridges and tunnels beginning at 6 a.m. Friday until Tuesday. Exceptions include the Queens Midtown Tunnel on Friday and at the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel through the weekend. At least one lane in each direction will always remain open in both tunnels. Drivers are advised to use EZPass.
