GREENWICH VILLAGE — Facebook co-founder Sean Parker has purchased a third townhouse on West 10th Street adjacent to the two he is combining into a single mansion, the New York Post reported Monday.

The 36-year-old married father of one started by purchasing a converted carriage house with an indoor pool at 40 West 10th St. about five years ago, then purchased the adjacent five-story townhouse at 38 West 10th St. for $16.5 million back in May of this year, The Real Deal reported at the time.

His latest purchase was the townhouse at 36 West 10th St. The Post did not report how much Parker paid for the property, but said it was bought by an investor about a year ago for $14 million and wasn't officially on the market yet again. The Post estimated the sale price was approximately $22 million.

All three properties lie in the Greenwich Village Historic District, so any changes to the exteriors will have to be approved by the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Parker is worth $2.4 billion and was the 10th wealthiest entrepreneur under 40 as of 2015, according to Forbes, and the 89th richest person in tech as of 2016. Along with co-founding Facebook, he started the early music-sharing website Napster and now frequently uses his wealth to fund studies on health issues like auto-immunity and cancer immunotherapy, Forbes reported.

He was one of the celebrities the city tapped last year to support its ultimately unsuccessful bid to host the Democratic National Convention.

New York magazine published a history of Parker's first home on the block, 40 West 10th St., in 2011, chronicling the past of the property known as the "Bacchus House" for the decadent parties thrown there by previous wealthy owners.
