QUEENS — Panda Express, a popular chain serving American-Chinese cuisine, will soon open a new restaurant in Rego Park, the company said.
The eatery will be located at 90-04 Metropolitan Ave., near Woodhaven Boulevard, sharing the building with recently opened Sleep Number.
The chain, known for its signature orange chicken, is scheduled to open the restaurant in early September, according to John Farrell, Panda Express's real estate manager.
Patrons at the location, the company said, will also have a chance to try its General Tso's chicken, which was only recently added to the menu.

Farrell noted that the 2,200-square-foot location, next to a shopping center, which includes Trader Joe’s, Staples and Home Depot, has been chosen “due to its visibility and high traffic.”
The California-based chain, which was founded by Andrew and Peggy Cherng in 1983, currently has more than 1,900 locations around the world.
New York City is home to six of them, including two in Queens — at JFK Airport and at the Queens Center mall, a store locator map for the chain shows.
The restaurant will be located in a building that replaced an old Exxon gas station demolished last year.
