BAY RIDGE — A man pushed and slapped a woman on the Bay Ridge Avenue R train platform in Brooklyn on Friday, police said.

The attack occurred on the northbound platform near Bay Ridge and 4th Avenues just before 11 p.m. on Aug. 19, according to the NYPD.

Passengers tried to detain the unidentified man, but he escaped their grasp, dashed through the turnstile and ran north on 4th Avenue, police said.

The victim received medical attention in the station, according to authorities.

Police describe the suspect as standing about 6-foot-3 and weighing 135 pounds. He was wearing a white dress shirt, black pants and black shoes, police said.
