NEW SPRINGVILLE — A shoplifter threatened to stab an officer and his family in the neck while being arrested for stealing condoms and a coffee mug, prosecutors said.

Charles Sedita, 47, told an officer "I am gonna stab you and your family in the neck," after he was arrested for the pilfered prophylactics in front of the New Springville Starbucks on Tuesday, according to court papers.

"I am gonna get you, watch and see," Sedita told the officer, according to his criminal complaint. "I am gonna get you and your family."

Sedita first went into the CVS at 2465 Richmond Ave. at about 9 a.m. and stole socks, deodorants, condoms, Advil and eyebrow kits from the store, prosecutors said.

He then went into the nearby Starbucks at 2505 Richmond Ave. and swiped a coffee mug and walked out, according to court papers. He was arrested in front of the store at 10:20 a.m. when he threatened to stab the officer, authorities said.

Sedita was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and harassment at his Wednesday arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

His bail was set at $2,500 and he's due back in court on Sept. 6, according to online court records.

Sedita was previously arrested twice this year, including once for disorderly conduct, according to court records.
