QUEENS — Police are searching for a serial burglar who recently broke into at least three homes in Jamaica and Hollis, and stole cash, electronics and jewelry.

All of the break-ins occurred between 10 and 11:20 a.m. and all of the homes were broken into through rear doors, police said.

The first reported burglary took place on July 20, when the suspect kicked in the back door of a home near 172nd Street and 90th Avenue in Jamaica and stole a $200 security monitor, according to the NYPD.

He struck again 7 days later, burglarizing a home on 197th Street near 89th Road in Hollis where he stole multiple pieces of jewelry, including a pair of diamond earrings, five Seiko watches, $2,000 and $300 in Canadian currency and 450 British pounds, police said. The owners were notified about the burglary by a security alarm company.

Police believe the same man is also responsible for another break-in that occurred on Aug. 2, when an Apple MacBook and $1,300 cash were stolen from a house near 202nd Street and Hillside Avenue in Hollis.

Police described the suspect as being in his 20s with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a New York Yankees hat. Authorities said that in at least one case the thief had an accomplice.

Anyone with information in regards to these incidents is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
