HARLEM — An East Harlem man was stabbed while sitting on the stoop outside his home, police said.

The 42-year-old victim was sitting in front of his building at East 115th Street, between Park and Lexington avenues, at about 8 a.m. on Aug. 15, when a man drove up in a black Lexus, got out and stabbed him in the right rib and elbow, police said.

The suspect, who police said the victim knew, used some kind of sharp object to stab the man, according to authorities.

The suspect then fled the scene in the black Lexus and the victim walked into Harlem Hospital, where he's in stable condition, police said.

Police described the suspect as a 40-year-old male, standing 5-foot-10 with long black hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
