QUEENS — A 9-year-old Queens girl was found dead in her family's bathroom Friday evening, and police are questioning the child's stepmother, sources said.

Ashdeep Kaur, 9, was found by police unconscious and unresponsive in the bathtub of her family's first-floor Richmond Hill apartment around 6 p.m. Friday, according to the NYPD.

Paramedics arrived soon after, and pronounced the girl dead at the scene, police said.

The medical examiner has not yet determined a cause of death.

Police on Saturday were questioning Ashdeep's stepmother in connection with the young girl's death, NYPD sources said.

Police sources said Ashdeep had just moved to Queens from India a few months ago.

There have been no charges, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
