Get a $775 Two-Bedroom Apartment in a Building Next to High Line

CHELSEA — Applications for 75 affordable apartments at a residential tower next to the High Line open on Tuesday, with rents starting at $775 for a two-bedroom.

Depending on income, studios will go for either $596 or $754 per month, one-bedrooms will go for either $640 or $810 per month and two-bedrooms will go for either $775 or $979 per month at 507 W. 28th St., between 10th and 11th avenues.

The 13-story building is part of a complex that has been branded Maestro West Chelsea, 6sqft reported.

Residents will have to pay additional fees if they want to use the building’s fitness center, laundry room, bike storage room and parking facilities.

The building, which will have an attended lobby, an on-site super, a recreation room and a roof deck, is offering the following 75 affordable apartment units:

► Three studio apartments will be available for $596 per month for one-person households earning between $21,772 and $25,400 per year.

► Six one-bedroom apartments will be available for $640 per month for one-person households earning between $23,315 and $25,400 per year, and two-person households earning between $23,315 and $29,000 per year.

► Three two-bedroom apartments will be available for $775 per month for two-person households earning between $27,978 and $29,000 per year, three-person households earning between $27,978 and $32,640 per year, and four-person households earning between $27,978 and $36,240 per year.

► Seventeen studio apartments will be available for $754 per month for one-person households earning between $27,189 and $31,750 per year.

► Thirty-one one-bedroom apartments will be available for $810 per month to one-person households earning between $29,143 and $31,750 per year, and two-person households earning between $29,143 and $36,250 per year.

► Fifteen two-bedroom apartments will be available for $979 per month for two-person households earning between $34,972 and $36,250 per year, three-person households earning between $34,972 and $40,800 per year, and four-person households earning between $34,972 and $45,300 per year.

Preference for 50 percent of the units will go to residents of Community Board 4, which covers Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen.

Municipal employees, mobility-disabled applicants and vision- or hearing-impaired applicants will also receive preference.

The monthly rent includes gas for cooking.

Residents will be selected through a lottery and interview process.
